The Milton Veteran Creative Exchange – Empowering Generations Through Art, is a free program aimed at connecting preschoolers and veterans through the magic of art.
The free multi-week intergenerational arts program is open to veterans, adults 55+ and preschoolers. Each week, a preschoolers is paired with a veteran or a 55+ adult to partake in an art activity and share a snack break together.
The program will run throughout the year in three installments scheduled for spring, summer and fall. A special month-long gallery exhibition at the FirstOntario Arts Centre’s Holcim Gallery will take place in November where participants’ works of art will be displayed.
The Milton Veteran Creative Exchange program is hosted by The First Ontario Arts Centre Milton in collaboration with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 136. This project was made possible thanks to the funding received from the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP), a federal grants and contributions program that supports community-based projects designed by seniors for seniors.
